Each year, around 300 000 international students commence study in Australia. This $15 billion industry is Australia’s fourth largest export, and is Victoria’s largest. Specifically, China is the largest contributor country of international students to Australia. China’s rising middle class combined with Australia’s proximity to the growing Chinese market has meant that Victoria has been well-placed to take advantage of their growing demand for international education. Victoria has therefore exhibited a strong performance in the delivery of international services to China, with student enrolments rising in recent years. This forum will discuss the variables of how our state can maintain this trend into the future.
Following the panel discussion and Q&A a formal lunch will be served and there will be a presentation by the keynote speaker, The Hon Steve Herbert MP. At the conclusion of the function there will be networking opportunities.
