Volunteer RAN Training
DECD states that volunteers who provide ongoing assistance with education and care sites and settings must be provided with the Responding to Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (RAN-EC) Induction Session for Volunteers.
Ongoing assistance by a volunteer can be either regular or irregular. This might mean:
- once a week
- once a fortnight
- every day for a term
- once a term
- whenever they can fit it in around other commitments.
Volunteers who are engaged in the delivery of services to children and/or hold a management position in a site which includes direct responsibility for, or direct supervision of, the provision of those services to children are mandated notifiers. The RAN-EC induction outlines their child protection responsibilities.
Participants will receive a handbook and a certificate. Refreshments will be provided.
