Flavours of Timor cooking demonstration


Introduction

Established by four Timorese women who came to Australia as refugees in 1975, Sabores de Timor is sharing the food and culture of Timor-Leste. All proceeds will be donated to the medical aid charity East Timor Hearts Fund.


 

Description

In this cooking demo, small groups will learn and eat six sweet and savoury dishes (including vegetarian options), as well as learning about the language and culture of Timor-Leste.

Dishes include agua-sal (fish soup), batar-da'an (corn stew with pumpkin) salada hudi dubun ho atun (banana flower and tuna salada), rissois de vegetais (vegetable rissoles), tukir (traditional Timorese goat stew).

Participants also receive a mini showbag of gourmet Timorese produce, including organic spices, salt, and chilli sauce

1st session: 9am – 13:00

2nd session: 13:30 - 17:00
