In celebration of World Interiors Day 2015 the DIA is excited to announce an exclusive members only tour of the iconic Sulman Award award winning 1957 Jack House.
The house was designed by architect Russell
Jack, founding partner of the architectural firm Allen, Jack + Cottier
in collaboration with his wife, architect Pamela Jack and is an example of mid-century modernism at its best. The Jacks lived in the house for 53 years
and today it is totally intact, featuring the original kitchen and
bathroom, timber panelling, built-in joinery and gorgeous wallpapers
from the 1950s.
The Jack House superbly illustrates the
design philosophies of integration with nature, expressed structure,
honesty of materials and how decoration can work beautifully in
Most recently the Jack House was featured
in Vogue Australia's April 2015 edition as the location for a stunning
photo shoot with actor Cate Blanchett.
Ticket price includes a full house tour, hosted by the current owner, interior designer and design educator Annalisa Capurro. Annalisa's passion & enthusiasm for modernism is infectious and will provide a rare & intimate glimpse into this architectural gem.
There are only 2 tour session times and spaces are limited so book now.
