‘It’s time we talked’ - Pornography, Young People and Sexuality
The session will be led by Maree Crabbe, the Coordinator of community education project ‘Reality and Risk: Pornography, young people and sexuality’.Maree has worked with young people and the issues affecting them for 20 years.
Explicit sexual imagery is now easily accessed, created and shared. For young people, it is almost impossible to avoid.
This parent only session explores issues including how young people are influenced by explicit sexual imagery and the implications for their capacity to negotiate consent, mutual respect and gender equality. Parents will leave the presentation with what they need to understand about pornography and its influence on young people’s sexual understandings and expectations, as well as how to support their sons/daughters healthy social and sexual development.
Cost:No charge but bookings are essential.
