Australian Cabernet Symposium

Coonawarra is internationally renowned as a premier red wine region, where Cabernet Sauvignon reigns as the most abundant grape variety grown. The region celebrates its Cabernet credentials in a variety of ways, including every three years with the Australian Cabernet Symposium.

This year's Symposium provides industry colleagues and wine lovers with the opportunity to learn about the history of the variety, as well as the innovations and developments occurring in the fields of wine research, viticulture, winemaking and the marketing of Cabernet Sauvignon. The event will bring together international and Australian experts and practitioners to share their insights about a unique element of the beloved Cabernet Sauvignon. There will of course be a distinct Coonawarra take on some of the presentations  given the region's unique climate and terroir, and capacity to produce wines of immense distinction. In fact our cabernets are considered by some to be the perfect expression of the wine.

The Australian Cabernet Symposium will also provide plenty of opportunities to meet like minded others in a relaxed atmosphere, with a country style dinner hosted at the nearby Penola Sports Club to conclude the event.
