Consumer Credit CPD

Consumer Credit, Unconscionability and a Commissioner
Former ACCC Commissioner Sitesh Bhojani joins our panel to discuss statutory unconscionable conduct and unconscionability since Amadio
All proceeds from the event will go to the Piddington Justice Project and the Consumer Credit Legal Service.

Mr Bhojani will join us in Perth from Melbourne where he practices as a barrister from Owen Dixon Chambers.

In 1995, Mr Bhojani was appointed a Commissioner of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. The ACCC has roles that include enforcing the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and promoting fair trading.  At the ACCC, Mr Bhojani’s responsibilities included its enforcement activities as a member and chair of its Enforcement Committee; the Presidency, in 2002-2003 on behalf of the ACCC, of the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network and finalising and overseeing ACCC submissions to various parties or inquires about competition or consumer protection issues.  He has written and presented many papers on competition and consumer protection issues.

Mr Bhojani will be joined by Aaron McDonald (Pragma Legal) and Curtis Ward and Georgina Molloy (CCLSWA), to discus unconscionable conduct as it applies in banking and finance matters

After the event, please enjoy some Piddington hospitality with the panel and other members of the profession.
