ASA - Troy: A Fabled City in Myth & Art

Description

The ancients describe the city of Troy as a place of untold wealth, of gold and fabulous luxury. But Troy was always a tragic city, loved and hated by the gods and beset by a fatal disposition to renege on its obligations. This lecture will explore the engagement of ancient poets and vase painters with the myth of Troy.
