The International Criminal Court (ICC) holds out great promise for addressing sexual violence in conflict and post conflict situations and for strengthening the international women’s rights regime. In its first decade of operation the ICC has demonstrated a commitment to meeting these promises, though it still has a long way to go. At this event, a panel of leading gender justice experts will present their views on the initial work of the court in addressing women’s rights and will consider future strategies for strengthening the ICC’s role in protecting women from violence both in our region and internationally.
