South Asian Australian Stories

Description

Wollongong Art Gallery presents:

South Asian Australian Stories

Join us for a multiform event featuring special guest writers Michelle CahillSunil BadamiRoanna Gonsalves and Sukmani Khorana.

This panel will feature cinematic, aesthetic, and lyrical narratives which engage with the subcontinent, and with the relationships between South Asian Australian writers and their other home.

With the failures of multiculturalism being apparent in Australia, for many newcomers, home can be an imaginary; a philosophic space; a theoretical crisis; and a place of rich invention for the recasting of myth, culture, language, and tradition.

South Asian Australian Stories presents three outstanding writers whose vivid representations bridge an evolving Australia cultural landscape with South Asia.

Tickets $10

Books will be for sale at the event from our Festival bookseller, The Best Little Bookshop In Town (EFTPOS facilities available).
