The I Heart Songwriting Club is going on tour. Founder and director of the global online songwriting club, Francesca de Valence, is touring to Tasmania for a songwriting workshop and concert and joining her in concert are Hobart I Heart Songwriting Club members, Toby Strays, Lasca Dry and Cassie O’Keefe.
The theme of the event, The Ripple Effect, is symbolic of the real-life ripple effect that the I Heart Songwriting Club is creating. After operating a private ‘pilot’ club for 2 years, the doors were opened to public membership in July 2016. Within 2 months there are 100 members from all over the world.
The I Heart Songwriting Club is a unique club that focuses on the process of creativity through restriction. It exists as a community space for songwriters who are isolated in their practice, it is a tool of motivation and accountability for songwriters who have ‘writer’s block’ or struggle to finish songs, and is a support network to keep songwriters writing every single week. The benefits to many members are well beyond simply musical and fall into the category of 'life-changing'.
Francesca will be running a 1-hour songwriting workshop prior to the concert and will be sharing some of her songwriting tips gathered from extensive research – namely writing 110 songs in 110 weeks.
