All Star Musical Comedy Showcase - Greg Champion & Friends
Love musical comedy? Then this is the Melbourne International Comedy Festival show for you!
Greg Champion (Coodabeen Champions, 774 Melbourne) headlines an hilarious evening of laugh-laden lyrics and toe-tapping tunes that are sure to tickle your funnybone.
This is a rare opportunity to see a musical comedy legend. Greg (or ‘Champs’) began his comedy career in legendary Melbourne comedy venues The Last Laugh and Le Joke in the 1980s and since then has gone on to star on radio, TV and at festivals around Australia and overseas.
Champs has collected several key awards and nominations for comedy songwriting including two awards in the comedy/novelty song category at the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards, and two ARIA nominations for comedy releases.
Joining Greg will be:
- multi-award winning cabaret star Geraldine Quinn (Spicks and Specks, The Weekly With Charlie Pickering, Adam Hills Tonight, Rockwiz, The Comedy Channel) – 9pm show only
- cabaret star Claire Healy (**** “Plays piano like a descendant of Chopin and sings with the voice of an angel. She’s as funny as heck.” – Herald Sun) – 7pm show only
- Beatles parody purveyor and Dad joker Stew Walker (Adam Hills in Gordon Street Tonight, ABC TV and A Hard Day’s Night of Beatles Parodies)
- silly science singer Rohan Windle (“Whimsical. The audience were quickly won over.” – popculture-y.com).
With side-splitting songs and sing-alongs, this talented troupe of tuneful troubadours offers a one-night stand where you’ll love them in the evening and respect them in the morning!
