Banney's Baton Banter with Christ Church Camerata strings
Sacred Spaces Fine Music Concert Series 2017
in association with 1233 ABC Newcastle

A live recording of Banney's Baton Banter with Christ Church Camerata

Works for string orchestra

in the Sisters' Chapel at Sacred Spaces at the Sisters of Mercy Convent
Singleton, Hunter Valley

Sunday 30 April 2017 at 2pm

Join us for three live recordings of Banney's Baton Banter, as heard each Thursday afternoon on 1233 ABC Newcastle.

ABC presenter Paul Bevan will join David Banney, conducting Newcastle's Christ Church Camerata, exploring works for string orchestra.

The acoustics of our stunning Sisters' Chapel will make this a particularly special recording and concert!

The Program: Vivaldi - Concerto in A minor for two violins and strings (James Ferguson and Sandra Ferguson, solo violins); Haydn - Symphony No 45 ('Farewell' Symphony); and Dag Wiren (Swedish composer) - Finale from Serenade for Strings. Each of these works will be ‘Bantered’ and then played in their entirety.  Paul Groh's Discovery Overture (composed by the Camerata's principal viola) will also be performed.

Now in its seventh year, the highly rated ‘Banter’ is a weekly exploration of music and life on 1233 ABC Newcastle.

See Camerata's website for more information about this acclaimed orchestra.

Enjoy our country hospitality at afternoon tea.
