hero
How Deaf people use Auslan and  How Interpreters comprehend it.

Presented by:  Stef Linder

This compliments “The Linguistics of Auslan for Busy Interpreters” workshop, and is intended to assist practitioners to identify the “what”, “who” and “when” in Auslan narrations.

The strategies used by Deaf people will be examined in relation to the use of constructed action and its relationship to space and depicting signs.  In addition, identification of pronouns and the use of time markers when interpreting from Auslan to English will be outlined.

This workshop will focus on development of Auslan comprehension skills – no interpreting activities will take place and will be conducted in Auslan only.  Due to the interactive nature of this workshop, live- streaming is not offered.
