The Roo Theatre Company is proud to present, Timberlake Wertenbaker's Our Country's Good.

In 1789, the First Fleet sails to Australia taking a group of convicts far away from London to build a new colony. A young lieutenant, Ralph Clark, takes on the challenge of directing the convicts in a play, to impress the Governor-in-chief who believes that theatre has the power to redeem and that it will teach the convicts about civilisation. The play is the first ever to be staged in the newly found country. With only two copies of the text, a cast of quarrelling convicts, disapproving superior officers and a leading lady about to be hanged, Ralph has plenty to overcome
