PENOLA STADIUM, MCCORQUINDALE PARK (this is a change of venue) | THU MAY 18 | 7.30PM
Co Opera return with the stunning production of Eugene Onegin. Even when compared with the masterpiece Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky said “Eugene Onegin is the best thing I ever wrote”. The Opera is based closely on Pushkin’s novel in verse which is considered to be Russia’s greatest writer’s greatest work. If you can imagine the luscious melodic and harmonic language of Swan Lake or the Nutcracker Suite translocated to the theatre with appropriate Russian romantic overlays, you can imagine Eugene Onegin; a hauntingly beautiful work.
Enjoy this unique performance cabaret style with BYO drinks and nibbles. Please note there is no heating in the stadium, dress in warm clothing..
