THE POWER OF RHYTHM
with TaKeTiNa founder & Master percussionist Reinhard Flatischler
& Senior Teacher Tania Bosak
3rd 4th 5th - November 2017
What lies behind the sound of music?
Where does the syncopation and basic pulse that moves us come from ?
Where is it that our thoughts, feelings, and sensations arise?
In this workshop TaKeTiNa invites you to take a closer look behind the
scenes of your life and to enter
those spaces from which your life flows.
In this space opposites collide: stillness and movement; emptiness
and fullness; tension and relaxation, all become one.
When we experience these rhythmic spaces consciously through TaKeTiNa,
we become closer to the background of our lives and experience complete
stillness through movement.
If you feel tense and try to seek inner peace by just sitting quietly, then the
chances are you’ll experience the opposite.
Complex movements created from ‘dropping in and dropping
out’ of rhythms will dissolve your tensions layer by
layer until you reach inner serenity.
TaKeTiNa also has a direct impact on your daily life,
even if you only have a small inner space
available to experience your emotions, TaKeTiNa
will help balance you and keep you on track.
TaKeTiNa is pure rhythm and meditation, a profoundly transformational and unique process. It requires no musical experience and is an extremely playful and joyous way of entering into the archetypal foundations of rhythms that exist in all music. Complex poly-rhythms and cross rhythms form the basis of the process as it utilises the body by stepping, clapping and singing to generate a complex and rich rhythmic choir which leads participants into states of relaxation, inner presence and awareness.
TaKeTiNa is one of the most effictient learning methods available today. It is a process for activating human and musical potential through rhythm. It is a path in which musical learning always goes hand in hand with personal development.
TaKeTiNa conveys rhythm the way people naturally grasp and learn it: by direct physical experience of fundamental rhythmic movement. The capacity for this is inborn; all infants come into the world with the sensory and motor skills that become the rhythmic foundation of all music. Fundamental rhythmic movements which are the underlying matrix of all forms of music.
The body is the instrument, the rhythm experience therefore is very intense and direct. TaKeTiNa is just as appropriate for musical laypersons as for professional musicians.
In the realm of music, TaKeTiNa can help you to:
stay in the groove and flow
develop profound rhythmic orientation
get to know the universal rhythmic building blocks.
develop improvisatory and compositional abilities
increase their competence on drums and percussion instruments.
In daily life, TaKeTiNa can help you to:
develop presence and a state of inner silence
stay focused for exceptionally long periods
deal creatively and effectively with chaotic phases
lessen your anxiety about mistakes and thus, help you make fewer mistakes
perceive several things simultaneously.
