Hope for the Jogini Girls

hero
For 2,000 years, young girls have been dedicated to the goddess Yellamma as part of the Jogini practice in parts of India. Girls are ‘married’ to the deity without consent. A Joginis’ duty is to provide sexual favours to men of the village. The Jogini system is ritualised, systemic, sexual abuse. Join us as Dr Joseph D’Souza – International Director of Dalit Freedom Network – shares stories of the plight of the Jogini girls and find out how you can be a part of ending this chapter of slavery.
