CSA NSW August 2017 Event
CSA NSW FREE WEBINAR:
Colour Changes in Art: A Closer Look at Pigments and Dyestuffs from an
Analytical and Historical Perspective with Dr Kristin deGhetaldi,
Sunday August 6, 12.00 pm (midday) AEST
I am pleased to announce that in addition to our regular monthly event, a presentation on colouration in nature by Dr Kate Umbers on August 23rd, the CSA NSW Division will be hosting a world-wide webinar with prominent paintings conservator Dr Kristin deGhetaldi (University of Delaware, USA), looking at paints and dyes from an analytical and historical perspective. We are very grateful to Dr deGhetaldi for generously agreeing to give us this presentation, which has been organized by CSA NSW committee member Dr Jean Pretorius. The event has been scheduled for a Sunday at 12 noon AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) so that it occurs at a reasonable time throughout Australia as well as in Delaware.
Sunday August 6th, 12 pm (midday) AEST.
Kristin will be presenting her webinar using a feature-rich US-based web conferencing platform called Zoom. Registrants will be emailed full instructions including a link to the webinar the day before the event. Clicking on this link will prompt the registrant to download, install and run the free Zoom app on their computer or phone. However to avoid delays on the day we strongly advise registrants to download and install Zoom prior to the webinar, then simply open the app and enter the webinar using the meeting number that will also be supplied in the email. The Zoom app is available at the link above for desktops and laptops, as well as at Apple’s iStore for iPhones and at Google Play for Android phones. If you experience difficulties connecting during the webinar please phone us on (02) 9251 4507.
If you are in Sydney on August 6 you are welcome to join Jean Pretorius and David Briggs in participating in the webinar at the Julian Ashton Art School, 2nd floor, 117 George St, The Rocks. Doors open at 11.30 am.
This webinar is provided free of charge by the Colour Society of Australia NSW Division but registrants must book in with their email address by Friday August 4. Registrants will be sent an email with instructions and the login link on Saturday August 5th.
