Scitech PL: Running a Primary Science Lab - practical ideas
Scitech PL: Running a Primary Science Lab - Practical Ideas
Your Science laboratory – practical ideas to run an effective primary school Science laboratory
So you have been asked (or volunteered!) to be the school primary Science specialist? Fantastic! You have (perhaps) 1 hour per week to teach effectively...
How do you set up your laboratory? How can you cope with perhaps 400 + students per week? How will you set up and distribute equipment? What about cleaning up? What support can you request? Do you know how to store chemicals and foodstuff? Can you dispose of used chemicals down the sink? Should students bring pencil cases? Do you need ideas to inspire the whole school to follow you on your Science pathway?
Mady will share with you many of her practical strategies for running an exciting, hands-on Science laboratory and whole school program, with ideas to minimise your stress levels! If you are a ‘wandering’ Science specialist (i.e. moving from block to block or room to room) you are most welcome - perhaps we can assist you with some practical ideas or you can help others with your strategies.
Hosted by Mady Colquhoun Science Specialist, Armadale PS.
