Surfing lesson for beginners

Learn how to surf down at one of Australia's most iconic 'surfing capital', Torquay.

Need to know

Trip leaves 7:00am approx. and returns around 6:00pm departing from Caulfield & Clayton campuses.

 

Things to bring

  • Money for incidentals
  • Sunscreen and hat
  • Drinking water
  • Snacks
  • Personal medicines (e.g. motion sickness pills)
  • Bathers and towel

 

Note that trips are subsidized and are for Monash postgraduates - you will be required to show your student ID to board the bus.

More information

We've arranged for a 2 hour surfing lesson which is inclusive of all the equipment. The professional surf crew will show everything from surf safety to paddling and progressing to standing and riding a wave.

After the lesson you simply relax on the beach with a good book, some beach cricket or football.

 

For those wanting to visit the beach, you are free to swim in the ocean, go for a lovely walk on the luscious beaches of Australia and join us for lunch.
