Goldfields Music Festival

Goldfields Music Festival will be held over the Labour Day Weekend 2018 9th – 12th March in the town of Newstead, Central Victoria.

Organised by InActOz, in association with the Newstead Community, the festival will celebrate the rich diversity of the local music scene by featuring a wealth of talented up-and-coming young progressive entertainers from the Goldfields area, playing alongside invited bands and artistes from Melbourne and interstate.
A key feature of the weekend is that InActOz is turning the Newstead Community Centre’s eatery into a Café, serving authentic African cuisine!

the Goldfields Festival will kick off with the opening and dedication, followed by a night of local Blues and Roots in the Community Hall.

Saturday 10th will start with an afternoon of acoustic music from the region's most talented up and coming artistes, including Grim Fawkner, Sherri Parry, Steph Bitter and others, followed by rockier bands taking the stage in the evening including Cameron Holmes and the Blues Dudes, Trash Lilly and CHeese EXcursion.

Sunday 11th will be a day of vibrant local bands and a night of contemporary Celt and Folk music. The food and more laid-back music will continue all day and most of the night.

Labour Day itself will be an all-age open stage fun jam session from noon onwards. Bands, artistes, and entertainers from the Goldfields area will be able to pitch up and have a go on the stages. The day will cost $10 entry (except for those who have bought tickets for the whole event), and all proceeds will go to the Bendigo Health Foundation.
