Four Seasons Fine Music Festival

High Summer Concert I

Concert for Lute and Tenor with Rosie Hodgson and Robert McFarlane.

Described as the lute world’s “new star” by the UK Lute Society Journal, Rosemary Hodgson maintains a vibrant career as one of Australia’s leading lutenists. Specialising in the performance of historic guitars and lutes, she is regularly engaged in major festivals, recordings and concert series throughout Australia and abroad.

Robert McFarlane is known internationally for his performances of Bach, in particular the Evangelist of the St. John and St. Matthew Passions, and was the 2008 and 2009 Bach Scholar in the St. Johns Bach Cantata program in Melbourne. He made his debut in Leipzig’s Thomaskirche in 2013 as the tenor soloist in Bach’s Mass in B Minor, with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Thomanerchor under the direction of Georg Christoph Biller, returning the following year to perform Wär Gott nicht bei uns diese Zeit.

We are excited to have Rosie and Robert both performing at our first concert for the year.
