Zelman Symphony - French Connections

One hundred years ago, the great French composer Claude Debussy died. This concert, one day before his centenary, is of music by Debussy and those influenced by him. We will perform his most famous orchestral work, the iconic Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, and the Piano Concerto in G by his younger contemporary Ravel, to be performed by Caroline Almonte. The climax of this program will be Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, full of colour and mystery, a fitting tribute to Debussy.
