Zelman Symphony - From the Old World to the New

This concert explores connections between three continents. While in the USA, Dvořák composed the American Suite and influenced composers like Samuel Barber who wrote the Adagio for Strings and Canzonetta for Oboe. This, and the Martinů Oboe Concerto will be performed by Nick Deutsch, Artistic Director of ANAM. Chris Pickering, the Zelman Symphony – Melbourne University Emerging Composer for 2018 is preparing a new work for us, and we finish with Dvořák’s lyrical Symphony No.8.
