Family Work Skills Workshop

BRINGING IN THE FAMILY: YOUNG PEOPLE AND DRUG USE 

Youth workers! Build your skills and confidence to effectively engage the family of young people you work with to create strengths and opportunities for them.

Young people engaging in drug use and other problematic behaviours may be experiencing conflict with their families, however the family is often the most valuable resource.

This experiential and skills-focused workshop will give youth practitioners the opportunity to learn and practice new skills that can be applied in work with young people and their families.

  • Why work with families when it’s so tricky?
  • What are the common difficulties and challenges working with families?
  • The ‘Top 20’ practical Family Work skills
  • Responding to complex presentations including; family violence, parental substance use, and intergenerational trauma.
