Building in a bushfire zone

Strategic environmental planning and land-use management are critical for bushfire safety and biodiversity. Bushfire codes and practices have become more stringent since the devastating fires in the Blue Mountains in 2013 when 203 houses were lost. An understanding of the perception of risk in bushfire-prone areas could also assist architects designing for clients in these areas.
