When James Henry Trotter loses his parents in a horrible rhinoceros accident, he is forced to live with his two wicked aunts, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker. One day, a wizened old man in a dark-green suit gives James a bag of magic crystals that promise to reverse his misery forever. When James accidentally spills the crystals near the old peach tree the most marvelous things begin to happen, and this is just the start of his wonderful adventures. With his new friends - Centipede, Earthworm, Grasshopper, Ladybird and Spider - James sets off on an incredible journey in the Giant Peach across the ocean and all the way to New York.
