Death and Redemption

hero
Oriana explores sacred music of death and redemption from one of the major turning points of Western musical history – the shift from the polyphonic lacework of the high Renaissance of the 16th century (represented by Palestrina's Requiem Mass) to the direct emotional word-painting of the Baroque that followed in the settings of psalms by Monteverdi and others.
