Archaeology: Digging Up Stories

Archaeologists deal with ‘things’ – things used, eaten or made by past peoples. In this session, Dr David Frankel will discuss how we turn these ‘things’ into stories. What sort of stories do we want to tell, and what sort of stories can we tell? Examples of local Victorian archaeology will illustrate and expose questions of how we want to understand and to write about the past. Dr Frankel will be joined by archaeological and heritage consultant Ricky Feldman.
