@Maitripa Centre

528 Myers Creek Road Healesville, VIC 3777

On this retreat, Sangye Khandro will teach from Master Pema Lungtog Gyatso's extensive commentary to Terton Dudjom Lingpa's terma revelation, Heart Essence of Saraha. Each word of the terma is embedded in the commentary entitled Dudjom Lingpa’s Chod ~ An Ambrosia Ocean of Sublime Explanations.  The retreat daily schedule will include daily puja practice, yoga and meditation.

Serious students will need to take the empowerment to receive the full benefit of the instruction and practice. New students who have an interest in the Troma Cycle are welcome and encouraged to attend the retreat.

Sangye Khandro, a disciple of both Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche and Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, studied Troma under the guidance of Kyabje Rinpoche, who oversaw her progress as she underwent a series of retreats to accomplish the prerequisites of the practice. Hence Troma has become her principle practice and she has translated several of the important termas that illuminate this path.

Lama Chonam, Choying Namgyal, was born in the Golog area of eastern Tibet in 1964. His root teacher, Khenpo Munsel, was a direct disciple of one of the great Dzogchen masters of the twentieth century, Khenpo Ngagchung. Lama Chonam escaped Tibet in 1992 and later came to the US where he met and studied under the close guidance of his primary teacher, Dungsei Thinley Norbu Rinpoche. In 1999 Lama Chonam helped establish the Light of Berotsana Translation Group. Over the past two decades, in addition to teaching Buddhist view, meditation and the Tibetan language, Lama Chonam co- translates and publishes books and assists in providing oral translation for Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche’s Dzogchen teachings in the US and abroad.

Sangye Khandro has been a Buddhist since 1971 and a translator of the Dharma since 1976 and has served as translator for many prominent masters over the years: Dudjom Rinpoche, Penor Rinpoche, Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, Dungsei Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, Yangthang Tulku Rinpoche, and has been Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche’s translator for twenty years. Sangye co-founded the Light of Berotsana Translation Group in 1999 and resides at Tashi Choling retreat center in Ashland Oregon where together with Lama Chonam she continues to engage in translation work as well as teaching and leading retreats in the US and abroad.
