A contemporary retelling of Peter Pan
I remember the star which shone so brightly through my window. The same star which twinkled in his eyes when he flew me away. The end of my childhood sparking the promising beginning of an untouched adventure. My innocence preserved rather than tainted, sealed in a stolen kiss. I am not a storyteller, not a mother, but a girl who was pulled in by the purity of a wild imagination and shoved forward by the inevitability of growing up. I can’t decide if he is a dream or lives a dream. It’s very silly really. He likes my stories but the greatest story I’ll ever tell belongs to him.
