Sydney Writers Festival Live and Local - Bega Valley

Sydney Writers’ Festival is Australia’s largest forum celebrating books and ideas in the southern hemisphere. The Festival brings the world’s finest authors and esteemed thinkers to Bega in real time through the Live & Local project.

Streamed LIVE by Sydney Writers’ Festival and delivered locally by the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre on Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May, Live & Local offers regional and national audiences access to new ideas from great minds, with the opportunity to participate in Q&A sessions at each event by sending questions direct to the Sydney stage.

Join us as we celebrate books, challenge ideas, and interrogate power. Supported by Bega Valley Shire Council, About The Book Bega Valley, Candelo Books, University of Wollongong Bega and South East Arts.

Free community event, donations will be accepted for the Mayoral Appeal Fund in response to the Tathra & District Fire Emergency.

Friday 4th May: 10:00am - 4:30pm.

Saturday 5th May 10:00am - 5:30pm.

Sunday 6th May 10:00am - 5:30pm.

Join us in the Foyer for the launch of Sydney Writers Festival Live and Local on Friday 4th May from 4:30pm - 7:00pm with live music by the Novellas. $10 entry at the door includes a complimentary drink on arrival, nibbles and live music.

The Novellas are a 5-piece hailing from the Bega Valley, NSW. Their songs are inspired by contemporary works of fiction from Australia and beyond. Sparse & atmospheric, The Novellas paint in song the evocations of the printed word and celebrate the emotional power of storytelling.
