Michael Kirby 's May Day Reflection on North Korea and Comrade Kim Jong-un

The Guest speaker at Sydney Rotary Club’s luncheon on 1st May will be The Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG.

In this talk, The Hon Michael Kirby, Paul Harris Fellow and Past Chair of the UN Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights Violations in DPRK ( North Korea) will reflect on the follow up to his Commission’s report of 2014 and the problem of getting results in the face of the development of nuclear weapons and ICBM.’’

The Hon Michael Kirby was a Justice of the High Court of Australia (1996-2009) and President of the NSW Court of Appeal (1984-1996). I 2013-4 he was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to chair the COI on North Korea. The COI found and recorded shocking crimes against humanity and urged urgent follow up action.”
