Singing is not about being a star or knowing how to do it well. It’s about enjoying the gift of our voices and sharing them with others. We were born to sing. It’s primal and it’s tribal. Voice is the language of our hearts. It’s how we express ourselves. And it’s very important to our mental, physical and social well-being. So come and sing your hearts out! EVERY MONDAY MORNING FROM 9.30 TO 10.30

Do a few minutes of basic and fun warm up exercises to get your voice moving and stretching, waking you up and tuning up your voice and body, some rhythm exercises that get your brain working, and then learn a couple of really simple unison or two part songs.


Types of songs work songs - with rhythm, movement, strong voice, protest songs - powerful songs for change Circlesongs - improvisation Heartsongs - there are tons of great chants - traditional western and eastern chants associated with spiritual development - and also newer original songs that are easy to learn and feel so great to sing.


About Janet and Adrian

Janet Swain has been creating and teaching choirs for many years, and always finds great joy in teaching people how to discover and use their voice and discover and learn new songs. Her background in theatre and love of performance brings something magical to her classes as she encourages her students to take risks without being singled out or intimidated! Janet believes that group singing in one of the quickest and most effective ways of creating and deepening community and connection between people. She also performs in the music theatre/cabaret band The Loveys.


Adrian Williams-Brett worked for many years in the UK, teaching large choirs and running workshops in voice work and singing. His passion and generous energy inspire people to sing with gusto, and connect with their own passion. Adrian often works in the corporate world, teaching mindfulness and ways of deepening connection between business colleagues. Adrian also sings with the Russian male choir, Dustyesky.


Adrian and Janet sing together in Dynasty 8 Chamber Choir, and are developing a new programme of singing and song workshops called ‘Sing In The Magic of Life’, available for communities, schools and teachers.
