Stories from the Past - Launch Night

This is the first night for our talk series! Come along at 6pm for some wines, beers and nibblies before the night kicks off!

Getting sued is never fun. Some of us hope it never happens to us. Perhaps some of us have already lost the battle. Perhaps some of you are in the middle of it all right now. What’s the repercussions of getting sued? How do you avoid being stung in the first place?  I'm sure you've heard many stories from the media, maybe even stories from your mates. Come along and hear the stories from the main characters themselves.

The Institute has invited 3 experienced architects to share with us their personal stories of when they have found themselves in court. You’ll hear stories ranging from “falling” over walls, balcony dilemmas, waterproofing failures, hidden clauses that you could get caught with as an architect and the limitations on pro bono work.

Panel of Guest Speakers:

  • Ralph Bailey, Guymer Bailey
  • John Mainwaring, Hollindale Mainwaring Architecture
  • Eddie Codd, Member of Australia (AM)

Registration and the bar opens at 6:00pm. Please have your ticket ready for scanning. Be seated for a 6:30pm start.
