The Catholic Diocese of Wollongong and the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta are co-hosting a two-day event of presentations by Fr Hans Zollner SJ (Hans). The two day event is being sponsored by Carroll & O'Dea, Makinson d'Apice and Catholic Chruch Insurance. The event is also being supported by Catholic Professional Standards Ltd, the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay, the NSW Professional Standards Office and the NSW Ombudsman. Hans will address the most significant issues facing the Catholic Church today with respect to harmful behaviour, including the theological and spiritual implications arising from the abuse crisis and their impact on victims and survivors, together with members of the Church.

Hans will be providing two distinct and separate presentations on Friday 31 August and Saturday 1 September 2018. 

Both days will be facilitated by Susan Pascoe. Susan is currently the President of the Australian Council for Internationl Development, following her election in November 2017. Prior to this role Susan was the Inaugural Comissioner for the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Comission.

Friday, 31 August 2018 - 10:00AM - 5:00PM
This presentation will be directed to Catholic Church personnel including child protection and safeguarding professionals, school principals, teaching staff, social welfare leaders and staff, clergy, religious, other employees and volunteers.
Saturday, 1st September 2018 - 10:00AM - 3:00PM
This presentation will be directed to victims and survivors of abuse, and their family and friends, together with their advocacy and support groups. The presentation will also focus on issues that continue to face faithful members of the Church in the light of the child sexual abuse crisis —particularly parishioners.
