Family Advocacy & Support Services Information Session

  • Time and Date: 3.00pm to 4.00pm on Thursday 14 June 2018
  • Location: Dandenong Commonwealth Family Law Courts, 53-55 Robinson Street, Dandenong.

About the session
The Family Advocacy and Support Services (FASS) has been operating at the Dandenong family law registry for over one year and aims to support families affected by family violence, whether victims or perpetrators. This session is an opportunity to learn about how FASS can best support your clients through the integrated duty lawyer and social support services.

Guest speakers will include a member of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia judiciary, along with FASS duty lawyers and family violence support workers.

We encourage anyone who works with clients affected by family violence to attend, including legal aid and community lawyers, private practitioners and community service organisations, to hear about how your client can be linked in with legal and non-legal supports at court, the benefits of engaging with the service and how you can best use FASS to improve outcomes for your clients.

Family lawyers will benefit from hearing particularly from the family violence support workers can provide support to their clients, even where legally represented, to address and manage clients who present as victims or perpetrators of family violence.

We look forward to sharing our information about FASS with you.

Book online using the button below.

Light refreshments will be served at 2.45pm.
