World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
15 June 2018

Free Community Education Talk

Financial Elder Abuse – What Seniors, Families & Professionals Need to Know.

While many older Western Australians are happily “spending their children’s inheritance,”
others are less able to enjoy their money. Sadly, the incidence of financial elder abuse among vulnerable seniors is rapidly increasing. Isolation & dependence due to frailty or dementia increases an elderly person’s risk of losing money or
assets to family, caregivers or fraudsters through greed, deception, pressure or guilt.

Help stop elder abuse by joining us for a topical discussion on recognising & reporting financial elder abuse; managing family expectations around gifts, loans & inheritance; use & misuse of EPAs & Wills; and ways to protect older people from financial exploitation.

Venue: Public Trustee Building, Level 1, 553 Hay Street, Perth.

Date: Friday 15 June, 10:30am to 12:00noon
