Board KickStarter Breakfast - 13 November 2018

hero

Thinking that joining a Board might be an ideal way to make your contribution? Not sure where to start, where to look, or even if your skills are what a Board needs?

Come and hear from two fabulous Directors on their experience and tips on getting and being on a Board. This event is ideal for aspiring, new or experienced Directors or those wanting to meet new and interesting people.

This will be of special interest to those who might not yet be convinced that age is no barrier to being a NED! Both Liberty and Alecia have been directors of YWCA Victoria (as has Helga, your host) and on Y Vic there was a requirement to have four young women - those women aged 30 years and under. There are a number of Boards that have young directors and they are a fabulous addition to any board.

OUR SPEAKERS:

Liberty Sanger

Principal and Director of Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and a member of the Executive Board. Liberty is a leader of the WorkCover and TAC departments and a Personal Injuries Accredited Specialist. Liberty appears on Jon Faine's program on ABC Radio once a fortnight talking about the issues of the week in a show called 'The Wrap'. Liberty enjoys partnering with her clients to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes, which may be a combination of legal and practical.

Alecia Rathbone

Deputy Chief Executive Officer at The Foundation for Young Australians. Alecia is passionate about social justice and how we can all play an active role in shaping and contributing to the communities in which we live. Alecia feels privileged to work in an inspiring and optimistic organisation that is creating change with generations of young Australians.
