Yogathon for Freedom: Melbourne

Join Yoga for Freedom as we rise together in the biggest Yoga and Social Change event in Australia to end the vicious cycle of sex slavery on the 9th of September 2018! It's our third annual yoga fundraiser with 8 inspiring hours of yoga, followed by an uplifting evening of ecstatic dance. 

We're dedicating our practice to FREEDOM. Yes, freedom from the world’s most heart-breaking issues: Child Sex Slavery.
8 hours of non-stop yoga. 8 diverse styles. 8 amazing teachers.
1 day of uniting together to make a difference in the world.

The ultimate challenge is to participate in 8 hours of yoga + Fundraising for Freedom.

If you are unable to participate in the full day, you can take part in one class (an hour), a half Yogathon (4 hours), our Dance for Freedom Evening session, or as many classes as you like!

100% of the proceeds go to our partner charities Art to Healing and Yoga in Action, putting an end to the torture and abuse inflicted on women and girls by the sex slave industry throughout India and Nepal and therapeutic yoga programs for survivors of torture.

All additional donations are tax-deductible.

What's Fundraise for Freedom? Fundraise for freedom is not compulsory, but we'd love for you to take on the fundraising challenge! It's just a little extra more to take your practice to the next level! Become either a Proud Yogi ($300), Spirited Yogi ($500) or Passionate Yogi ($1000) and use your yoga practice to raise more money for the cause! For more info, please go to We'll be emailing all 4 - 12 hour yogis with an email within 72 hours with more Fundraise for Freedom info after you book your ticket.

I want to be there for the whole day and donate to the cause, but I'm not sure if my body can do 8 hours of yoga. Yoga for Freedom is all in the spirit of peace, inspiration, uplifting of humanity and freedom! It's not compulsory to do the entire 8 hours, and it's totally ok to rest, take breaks, have a bite to eat, and look after yourself. There are no expectations! We just want you to be part of this awesome community and the intention of giving back to the issues that matter in the world, have fun and feel inspired! So if you can't do the entire 8 hours, that's totally ok.

Will there be food and drinks at the venue? Yes absolutely. We'll have fresh pressed juices, a free selection of teas, water and yummy food at the venue, kindly sponsored by MA Australia. The event is directly across from the Queen Victoria markets, so there'll be many accessible restaurants and cafes too.

Opening meditation and welcome session start at 8 am.
All classes are 1 hour long, with a 5 min break in between sessions.
