Lost Flocks & Distraught Shepherds: Capt Charles Swanston

While living in Tasmania, Dr Eleanor Robin became fascinated by the maritime history & stories of the early capitalists’ wild optimism & bold ambition. This led to research at the University of Tasmania & publication of her doctoral thesis, SWANSTON Merchant Statesman. Highlights of Eleanor's journalism career included 9 yrs (1980-1989) as head of the information section, Aust Heritage Commission and many stints between 1992 & 2001 as a writer with the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation.
