Ok Tedi - Recent Developments and Future Business Strategy
Ok Tedi Mining Limited has been operating PNG’s largest copper mine for over 35 years. The mine is a proud PNG owned company and has 33% landowner equity.
In 2017, total material mined was 84.6 Mt. Total ore processed was 20.1 Mt producing 105,000 tonnes of copper and 271,000 oz of gold at a C1 cost of USD 0.93/lb. Profit was PGK 848 million and the safety record was best in 18 years with only 1 LTI recorded for the year.
Mr Peter Graham has been the MD and CEO of Ok Tedi Mining for the past three years and has been responsible for leading the restructuring of the business, resulting in Ok Tedi costs being among the lowest in the industry. Peter will present an overview of the business strategy and recent developments at Ok Tedi.
