After School Clubs Term 4 2018 - ICT and Coding Club

Children are often naturally curious and in wonder about the world around them. Engaging them in basic computational thinking and problem-solving concepts gives them a great head start in their digital technologies education. To provide for those eager minds, we host students from the greater Launceston area for an after-school programme centred around these concepts. The interactive lessons allow children to learn by doing, through use of basic principles of programming, computational thinking and problem-solving This is an opportunity to enjoy and nurture a passion for Technology.

These sessions are delivered by the Senior Campus Head of ICT, Michelle Cooper.

In Term 4, students will begin to explore Alice programming. Alice is a three-dimensional programming world that allows the development of problem-solving skills using both storytelling and game development in an engaging environment.

Students participating in the ICT Club can do either one or two sessions - each session is customised based on the participant's level of understanding
