CPD Sydney: Digital design and documentation

Interloop by Chris Fox. Photo: Josh Raymond.

3 formal CPD points (AACA competencies: Design, Documentation)

Digital models can be used for many analyses and situations as well as quantification to provide the basis of Life Cycle Assessment, costing and construction scheduling over the whole design and construction process. Model content and quality become fundamental in this process.

Attend this seminar to explore downstream uses of models and their upstream value to architects, and hear about leveraging BIM’s benefits and opportunities in your work – from initial implementation, design development and documentation through to construction workflows – while remaining attentive to its limitations.

Thursday 8 November: 9am–12.30pm

Scott Beazley is the Digital Technologies Manager at Mitchell Brandtman and teaches BIM collaboration at the University of Wollongong and is a Senior Research Fellow in the Sustainable Building Research Centre, where he is working on a cold-formed steel, medium-rise residential archetype building. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney in Art Processes and Architecture, and has been the recipient of many awards, grants and residencies. Chris has exhibited in numerous solo, group and collaborative exhibitions in Australia, the USA and Europe, with an established sculptural practice of large scale public and private commissioned artworks.
