Four Seasons Spring Concert I- Gillian McNaughton

Gillian McNaughton is a freelance organist, accompanist and choral singer based in Melbourne, Australia. She held the position of Senior Organ Scholar at Trinity College at the University of Melbourne for 2016-2017.

Highlights of the programme will be JS Bach's trio sonata no 3, and a rare performance of Douglas Lilburn's Prelude and Fugue in G minor. Douglas is a New Zealand composer, more well known for his large scale orchestral works, and this piece for organ is wonderfully evocative, bringing to mind the misty mountain ranges of Aotearoa, New Zealand, with the spring snow melt forming streams flowing down over the rocky outcrops.

Saturday 3 November, 7.00pm

Refreshments will be provided after the concert for a small fee.
