The Argyle Orchestra and Choir has much pleasure in presenting it's third Christmas Concert, Directed by Simon Reade again at St Davids Cathedral.
This Christmas we are performing one of Mozarts best loved works his Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola with Soloists Tara Murphy and Finn Cooney.
The second work being The Messe de Minuit de Noel written around 1690 by the French Baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier. This beautiful work combines art music with music of profane origins, using French Christmas folksongs, some of which date back to the Middle ages which puts it in the genre of a "parody mass." It is scored for string orchestra, organ with 2 Flutes, Choir and 5 fantastic young solo voices being Lana Kains, Sophie Mohler, Rebecca O'Hanlon, Jeremy Boulton and Alexander Young
