Coach Clinic Day Option A - Saturday 2nd February 9:15am to 3:15pm, State Gymnastics Centre, Prahran - Practical Coach Clinic session best suited to WAG Intermediate coaches and above and those coaching WAG Level 6 and below (3 practical clinics of 90 minutes each).
Fundamentals First for Acrobatics - In this session Nick will dive deep into the key ‘laws' and critical principles that coaches must consider in the teaching process of acrobatics. This is a practical session, where Nick will demonstrate numerous drills and preparations to soften the learning curve of these principles for the athletes, and fast track them to better acrobatics.
Physical Preparation - 'The Daily Dozen' - We all recognise the importance that physical preparation plays for our athletes, yet deciding which exercises and movements need to be included within a comprehensive program can feel like an overwhelming task. In this session, Nick will break through the ‘fluff’ and deliver you some of the uncompromisable ingredients so you leave with clarity on what goes in, and what can be left out.
Bars - Body Alignment and Shaping - All gymnastics skills stem from a core set of positions and shapes, and no apparatus exposes these positions more than bars. In this session, Nick will deliver his key exercises and drills for better shaping and body alignment, leading to better lines and fewer deductions.
Coach Clinic Day Option B - Monday 4th February 9:15am to 3:15pm, State Gymnastics Centre, Prahran - Practical Coach Clinic session best suited to WAG Advanced coaches and above and those coaching WAG Level 7 and above (3 practical clinics of 90 minutes each).
Advanced Acrobatics - In this session, Nick will demonstrate the progressions and stepping stones that lead to higher level acrobatics, so you can rack up your athletes' D score on floor.
Physical Preparation - 'The Octimisation Tool’ - Throughout this interactive session, Nick will share his ‘Octimisation Tool’ for physical preparation, with a focus on the lower limb components of your athletes’ training programs to keep them jumping higher, faster and longer (whilst off the medical bed!)
Bars - Learn To Fly - For this session, Nick will share his 'go to’ exercises for introducing release and transition elements on bars, including the best way of handling these skills.
Whether you are coaching competitive or high performance athletes, this conference will have something for everyone. (Please note that the Nick Ruddock Coach Conference is in addition to the annual Gymnastics Victoria Coach Conference to be held on the 19th - 20th January 2019).
Nick has consulted for over a dozen international gymnastics federations including Germany, Romania, Japan, and Switzerland. Over 600 coaches from all over the world have attended Nick's annual education conferences and workshops, alongside an ever- growing community of followers of his online educational material.
Nick’s experience includes working as the Junior National Coach for British Gymnastics, where he was charged with the task of developing the developmental and junior gymnasts within the GBR High Performance program, ensuring a steady stream of athletes were adequately prepared to represent GBR and Team GB on the international stage, and rival for medals too.
