Verdi - The Force of Destiny Overture

Featuring an aria by soprano Patricia Bellasi

Mendelssohn - Symphony No. 4 "The Italian"

We invite you to join the NRSO in this very special concert featuring a mother and son duo.

We warmly welcome our international guest conductor, Marco Bellasi from Italy, who is the current Musical Director of Oldham Symphony Orchestra in England.  His mother, Patricia Bellasi, an acccomplished soprano on the Gold Coast, will be joining him on stage singing “The Force of Destiny” by Guiseppe Verdi in this unforgettable performance.

Later in the program we see our very own NRSO musicians Karen Ruprecht and Neil Heymink display their talent in the Concerto for Two Bassoons by Johann Baptist Vanhal.  Lastly, we present Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, “The Italian”, to cap off a magnificent Touch of Italy concert.  It is one not to be missed!
