ISAK LEVEL ONE ANTHROPOMETRY COURSES
This qualification is internationally recognised by the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK). Participants will walk away with a range of practical skills used by sport and fitness professionals to profile a client’s body composition. This course focuses on teaching you the practical skills and knowledge required to measure an individual’s body composition using standardised measurement techniques advocated by practitioners around the world. It is essential for those seeking to work with elite athletes as part of a high performance team and those seeking reliability in their measures of clients. Successful accreditation is based upon participants meeting the minimum required score in the practical exam, 16 marks from a total of 20.
Dr. Melissa Arkinstall, an ISAK Level Three international instructor, will lead the 3 day course. Dr Arkinstall, has over 10 years’ experience as a sports scientist working at high performance level. Work alongside Melissa and the ERA team in our nationally accredited sports science facility to become proficient in this area of measurement and add value to your existing client services.
PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN HOW TO:
- Measure an individual’s skin-folds & girths
- Calculate an individual’s somatotype (body shape)
- Calculate an individual’s % body fat
- Monitor changes in an individual’s body composition
- Develop a body composition report template to give to your clients

Please choose carefully. Exercise Research Australia (ERA) does not provide refunds if you simply change your mind or choose the wrong service. All transactions are processed in AUD.
Clients may choose between a refund, exchange or credit in instances where services have been wrongly described, or are different to the service advertised for purchase on the website. In relation to purchased professional development services, via either face-to-face or electronic mediums, cancellations must be made in writing to, and acknowledged by a staff member at ERA.
If you receive a credit note from ERA for any event, service or subscription the credit note will be valid for 6 months from the date as detailed on that credit note.
Cancellations received and acknowledged more than 20 working days before commencement of a workshop will be entitled to a full refund, less an administration fee of $55 (including GST). Where advice of cancellation is not received within 20 working days prior to a scheduled event, no refunds will apply; however substitute delegates will be welcome upon written notice to, and acknowledgement by, a staff member at ERA.
Important: Please note that MINIMUM attendee numbers are required for training to proceed and ERA reserves the right to cancel or change the date of a scheduled event to ensure minimum numbers are met. It is your responsibility to ensure that any travel arrangements made are flexible in line with these terms and conditions as ERA will not be responsible for reimbursement of travel costs.
Where cancellation or change of date of a scheduled event occurs, you will be contacted directly by a staff member from ERA.
